Happy OT month everyone! My ikigai for OT is that being an OT makes me feel more “me” than being anything else. That’s a little heady for early on a Tuesday. To borrow from another Japanese concept of “kintsugi” which is the art of mending broken china with a golden bond in such a way that the brokenness transforms the china into something even more beautiful. There were seasons I thought I was broken and yet through my own spiritual journey, sharing life with good people, and learning about the gift OT can be for those who feel broken, I came to desire to be that force in other people’s life. To be the golden bonding agent in another’s story is beautiful, transformative, and deeply humbling. That’s the mystery and art of “kintsugi”. If you’d like to hear more about my OT origin story in less of a metaphor and more concrete terms, please feel free to connect and I’d be happy to share over a conversation.
